What Is Vedic Meditation?

Vedic Meditation, is a self-sufficient practise, a deeply profound meditation experience. It allows the mind to rest peacefully beyond all thought, all distractions arriving at a state a pure surrender and blissfulness. A cumulative experience that has life-long benefits. It brings an immediate joy – improving your health, immune system and energy levels without the use of apps or external devices. A practice that you can action anytime and anywhere.

This simple, natural and effortless technique allows the mind to move from that very busy, active level of the mind, the habitual mind that is constantly thinking, planning and worrying… to that deeper, inner quiet, subtle, blissful state of the mind, the silent creative centre within. Helping to eliminate stress, tension and fatigue in the system at a greater rate than we are accumulating.

How do we achieve this? We simply introduce a mantra, that is specifically suited to the individual, and correctly instruct you in how to use it. Mantra meaning ‘Manas’ – Mind, ‘Tra’ – Vehicle. It is a vehicle that allows the mind to reach a state of expanded peace, beyond all thought, all distractions to arrive at its purest state. The mantra has no specific meaning but is a sound that has a certain vibration which is charming and sweet to the mind. This allows the mind to flow effortlessly within, settling easily into a state of peace, stillness and restfulness. With the use of the mantra, the conscious mind has the experience of the subtle strata of a thought, eventually arriving at the direct experience of the subtlest state of the thought and then arriving at the very source of thought, the field of BEING. This experience we refer to as the transcendent, PURE consciousness, BLISS consciousness or simply BEING state!

‘A powerful meditation technique to help manage and release stress, tension and fatigue out of the body’.

Vedic Meditation is the basis of an integrated life, a means of bringing into harmony the inner creative silence and the outer activity of life. To restore joy and peace within oneself. We locate our Inner sanctuary. Our life becomes more comprehensive, more powerful, more useful; our aspirations also increase, and we become more creative and fulfilled.

Vedic Meditation purifies the nervous system. helping the body to off load deep rooted stress that has accumulated over a period of time, often a life-time. Chronic stress has been linked to heart disease, insomnia, digestive issues, migraines, depression, obesity, poor memory, sexual dysfunction, infertility, body aches and pains, skin conditions and lowered immune system. The body off loads the stress, once the mind becomes quiet. How do you ask the mind to fall quiet, it’s not something you can direct it to do but enable it to move in the direction of quietness through the use of a mantra.

‘We forget to simply BE – to be still, to be our happy selves’

The meditation technique is practiced 20 minutes, twice a day – once in the morning to prepare you for the day and again in the evening to eliminate the accumulated stress and tension of the day. You sit comfortable with the eyes closed. It can be done any- where; in the office, on the lounge, on a bus or train on your way to work or school, down at the beach, sitting up in bed, in the car whilst waiting to pick-up the kids from school or wherever you see fit. This is an individual practice. Anyone can learn, 5-year-olds to 85+ can practice this technique with ease.

The Benefits

Building our IMMUNITY is our strongest defence in modern times.
Vedic Meditation helps purify the nervous system, alleviating stress and anxiety to create inner resilience, calm and balance, bringing immediate relief to the nervous system.

By simply practising this technique for 20 minutes, morning and evening, we experience more clarity, creativity, energy, joyfulness and intelligence.

In turn, this allows us to get through our daily ‘to-do’ list faster and enables us to fit more into our day, if we wish. This means we have more time to do the things we love most. Sounds like a good investment!

The benefits are immediate; meditators often report that 20 minutes of meditation is the equivalent to 3 or 4 hours of sleep. This deep rest allows us to become calmer, have more energy, patience and greater perception.

We are able to manage and cope more successfully with the obstacles and stresses of everyday modern life and still have the energy to enthusiastically embrace new demands.

We experience living our life to its fullest potential, maximising our performance and achieving success in all areas of our personal and professional lives.

We start to do LESS and accomplish MORE!

The Origins

Vedic meditation is an ancient form of meditation, originating in India over several thousand years ago from extensive research and investigation into the inner workings of the mind and body.
The word VEDIC comes from the, SANSKRIT word VEDA, or knowledge. The VEDAS are an ancient body of wisdom, the source from which yoga, meditation and Ayurveda medicine are derived.

This technique of meditation is passed down through an unbroken line of teachers, maintaining the integrity of the tradition.

Although its origins is from India, this technique is universal in its nature and practised by people all over the world, regardless of their society, profession, age, religion or belief system.

Life is infused with
consciousness of pure BEING
